Barrington Horse Country
The Riding Club of Barrington Hills hosted its fall Barn Tour on Saturday, October 8, 2016. More than 80 guests enjoyed a progressive dinner event across three equestrian venues, traveling by tour buses to reach each location. Guests watched presentations and mingled at each barn.
The barn tour evening began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at Walk On Farm, dinner and wine service at Matchmaker Farm, and desserts and liqueurs at a recently built private farm’s barn. The evening was spectacular, with one of the most beautiful, sunny days of the season sliding into a memorable starlit and temperate evening.
“The beautiful scenery of Barrington Hills was the perfect accompaniment to the demonstrations of hunter/jumper horses at Matchmaker Farm, and a lovely backdrop to dinner in the main barn,” said Jane Clement, president of the Riding Club.
The Club was so pleased that the evening turned out to be such a lovely time for its guests. The Riding Club of Barrington Hills’ purpose is to serve as stewards of the bridle path system; to create and maintain interest in horseback riding and preserve equestrian traditions in the Barrington Hills countryside; to obtain the best possible facilities for trail riding on private trails in Barrington Hills and on public trails on county-owned property; to foster social interaction; and to work for the benefit and pleasure of all who ride horseback and enjoy horses.
